Community & Outreach
I am interested in raising awareness for women and first-generation students in STEM. As an undergraduate, I established and maintained a first-generation honors society at Roanoke College that is still active. At UMD, I have served as a guest speaker on an emerging podcast targeting increasing engagement in STEM in high-school students. In this capacity, I have been an advocate for first-generation students by illustrating my own unique scientific journey and disseminating my science to general audiences. To continue fostering opportunities for women in STEM I recently joined the Capital Region Chapter of Women In Bio (WIB), a career development platform.
